Started re-reading Deep Wizardry again, and something occurred to me that I can’t believe I never thought of before.
S’ree was the Singer, right? The one who organized the song, the one who serves as the wise voice, the… narrator, for lack of a better word.
S’ree did well in the role, but it wasn’t a perfect fit, not really. You get the sense of that, somehow.
