If you’re worried about people forgetting about the awful stuff still happening in Ferguson, I think “get angry” is probably the worst possible advice, because anger is not something that humans can maintain indefinitely and stay healthy; if you try, it either burns you out or becomes apathy, and that’s not what we want to happen here.

Instead, stay watchful. Stay analytical. Pass along information. Point out inconsistencies in the oppressive forces’ story. Record and share their sins. Keep showing the heroism of those trapped under their thumb. Do not forget. Do not stay quiet. Stay thoughtful.

This level of conflict of interest is massively unsurprising.

This is horrifying. The worst of Chicago politics migrated south to St. Louis.

Extremely. While we think of Chicago and New York as the most corrupt, we tend to forget our own local politics. This problem is wide spread in every city/county/state.

There is no way to escape it until we all become aware of this problem. And then when we are aware, we have to organize and attack the problem by its roots.
