could
you imagine that new pokemon getting a super doting trainer thinking it
has successfully disguised as a pikachu, only to have its wooden tail
fall off one day, poor thing would have a panic attack over if their
trainer will still want them i bet

okay arguably i got a little carried away BUT this idea was way too cute not to run with..! ;u;

i had considered making a comic with a child, but then i thought mimikkyu’s “““tail”““““““ would be a perfect height for a walking stick – and it makes them more huggable anyway!! or at least, sylvester thinks so ^q^

I keep seeing Mimikkyu all over my dash and I want to protect them all so I’m making a headcanon post cause I love them and the posts keep making me sad and –

Headcanon that the little guy evolves when shown enough love and affection and doesn’t feel the need to hide under the disguise anymore. That’s all. I want there to be a brilliant moment when it feels safe and secure and loved. (Like for all I care, nothing happens in the evolution other than taking off the disguise)

Unless they like wearing it cause it makes them feel nice, cause you do you, little guy, I ain’t taking that away from you.

(And I will gush at all the fanart I’ve seen of Mimikkyu dressing up as different pokemon because that’s also adorable)

But if it’s purely for affection from trainers I want it to get the support it needs.

…I’m sorry, I’ve grown attached to the little guy.

Imagine living in the Pokémon world.

Imagine you’re hanging out with one of your buddies one night. A good friend you’ve known for several years.

It’s just a casual day out and the two of you are chatting, telling jokes, showing each other memes. At some point in the day, for no reason in particular, an idea comes to you. “Hey, let’s see what the pokédex has to say about you,” you say as joke, and emphasize the joke by actually pulling out your pokédex.

You don’t actually know what would happen if a ‘dex tries to register a human. Maybe it will glitch out, or crash, but most likely you’ll just get some sort of error message. Without giving your friend a chance to react, you hold the device up to them and push the button. You wait a few seconds for the scan to complete, and then hear in a small, robotic voice,

“Zoroark, the illusion fox pokémon.”
