tfw you’re writing and your fic is turning into something you didn’t intend it to be
tfw you’re writing and a character says something you didn’t expect them to say and it sort of opens up a new plot point you’re going to have to resolve now by the end of the fic
I’m in a writing group with around 40 people and one of the common reasons people don’t post their work is because “no one ever comments on it, so no one is reading it” which blows because their work is amazing and instead it’s sitting in storage.
don’t think don’t breathe don’t question where the inspiration came from just wriTE LIKE THE WIND BEFORE IT LEAVES
meticulously plan the plot out until you actually have to write the story and then struggle and suffer
bonus method: no inspiration OR plot just an idea that you want to keep working on but you just stare at the screen blankly with tears running slowly down your face
Don’t feel bad if you’re sensitive to negative feedback because apparently after one particular bad review Hans Christian Anderson’s son once found him just sobbing while lying face down in the dirt
someone: hey are you ever going to post that thing you teased a while back? 🙂
me: *hisses and retreats into a pile of half-finished fics and empty dorito bags*
