if u reblog anything about how being trans or not straight is becoming a fashion trend and try to discourage individuals from exploring their gender, sexual, and romantic orientations, im automatically unfollowing u

there’s no if ands or buts for this, if ur creating an environment where individuals aren’t going to feel safe or valid while exploring their identity, then ur creating an unsafe and harmful space thats only going to hurt and invalidate people

when i was in year 5, i did a speech on clumsiness for my school’s public speaking contest and to be clever, i tripped on my way to the stage dropping my note cards all over the place, but then i pulled the real ones out of my pocket saying ‘if you’re going to be clumsy, it pays to be prepared!’

everyone lost their shit and i got second place

If you got second place who got first… Did they talk about fire safety and burn the stage down or something

Success! India’s First Mars Probe Is In Orbit And Working

India has managed to do what few other nations have accomplished: putting a satellite into orbit around another planet — and it did so a lot cheaper than the competition.

The $70 million Mangalyaan, or “Mars craft” in Hindi, began circling Mars after a 24-minute engine burn to slow it down enough to be captured by the Red Planet’s gravity.”

Read more from NPR.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES SPACE

It’s not just that the satellite is cheaper, but that they focused on finding answers to questions that hadn’t been answered AND which could be answered cheaply AND which compliments other nations’ scientific research into Mars.

This was, in short, a very well-realized space expedition. India deserves all the attention.

Seriously, though this is kind of a big deal. Know that big problem we have? You know, the one involving a crapload of used plastic hanging around in landfills with nowhere to biodegrade for a couple million years? Well, Jonathan Russell might’ve solved that problem. See, Russell and his fellow Yale students went to Ecuador, where they found a new kind of fungus they’re calling Pestalotiopsis microspora. Big deal, you’re thinking. Anyone can find fungus anywhere! Well, something his fellow students found out after the fact is that this fungus can live on a diet of polyurethane alone — and even crazier, it doesn’t even need air to do so! In other words, we could potentially put it at the bottom of a landfill and cover it with plastic, and it would do the rest of the work. This might be game-changing if it works as advertised.
