i’m telling you right now
if you are queer and not jewish, it is absolutely your responsibility to stand up when you see queer people being being antisemitic and talking about “archaic biblical laws” or whatever
if you are jewish and not queer, it is absolutely your responsibility to stand up when you see jews being homophobic and using the bible as an excuse
queer jews are already faced with homophobia and antisemitism from communities that are not ours, we shouldn’t have to be defending ourselves within our own communities as well.

While jews have historically and currently been overrepresented in media both as characters and actors the portrayal of Jews is always that of the fully assimilated Ashkenazi (Jews with European ancestry). We are shown as being secular and unrecognizable to goys. maybe we get a Jewish food or Yiddish word occasionally but besides for that we may as well be goyim. We also are often portrayed as stereotypes such as the insecure comedy relief, the bumbling sidekick or the genius.
The issue is that this shows a sliver of the Jewish population and completely erases Jewish culture. Jews are not a homogeneous group. We come from all over the world, practice Judaism differently, there’s not one single Jewish culture or way to be a jew.
basically ever since I tweeted the first tweet… I’ve had to combat the most ignorant white souls on this planet… All of them using the same excuses.. All of them making it about themselves rather than admitting the injustices..All of them calling me racist for speaking the truth… The sad thing is for once I can say people on tumblr understand more than twitter…
It’s saddening and disgusting that they still attempt to remain blind.. It’s exhausting and I’m sick of educating the hopeless..
ALL of the facts and proof but you still bypass it all to say “NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE” They care more about not looking racist than they do about the injustices that have occurred

reminder to never call anyone a trap (real or fictional) cause its grossly transphobic, kthx
Hey y’all just a heads up, statistics while sometimes useful can also lead you to wrong conclusions. Poorly worded, vague, or confusing questions, small sample sizes, the way the survey is administered, how participants are found, how the survey is compiled, how the data is interpreted and how it’s presented all can distort the data. Even if you try your best there will be some data manipulation. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t use statistical data. Just think critically about the information and survey and try and find multiple studies from different people.

Traits of a healthy relationship
Great graphic about healthy relationships!
This is really cool :).
Notice how “sex” is not mentioned anywhere.
Don’t feel pressured to have sex with your partner if they say that it won’t be a healthy relationship without it
Reblogging for that last comment.
mubarak got acquitted!!!!! im LAUGHING
wait let me remind u i forgot nobody on this website actually cares about egypt if it’s not pyramid-related
remember when egypt had a big revolution in 2011? and we got rid of mubarak, our thirty year strong dictator? and he got arrested and has been on trial since then, along with his sons and others accused of killing protestors and corruption?
oh yeah he walked free today
It’s easy to say “fuck cultural identities, we’re all human” when your culture is not the one being exploited, marginalized and oppressed. It’s easy to say “fuck borders” when your country is the one who puts up the borders. And it is really fucking easy to say “we all bleed red” when it’s not bodies of your people riddled with bullets because Western capitalism has a price.
Some of the more pervasive but insidious warning signs of a giant asshole:
The following is a list of things I used to overlook because they seemed like common, everyday attributes among seemingly “smart” people. Then I realized I just knew a lot of insufferable, narcissistic pricks.
- They in any way actively view and describe themselves as “intellectual.” Be particularly wary of pseudo-humble language such as “I like to think I’m a bit of an intellectual”
- They believe objectively that they are “logical” and that this makes their opinions inarguable.
- They think “political correctness” is only a bad thing and generally worse than anything it seeks to avert.
- They demonstrate intense bitterness towards anything they believe constitutes “censorship” and that no material is ever offensive enough to justify exclusion from any outlet.
- They think religious faith is the root cause of all major societal ills.
- They regard “both sides” of a given social issue as equally wrong for fighting at all.
- Along the same lines, they conflate their neutrality and ambivalence towards a subject with being “more rational” than anyone who holds stronger feelings on it.
- They judge the intelligence of other people and the validity of their opinions by their vocabulary or grammar.
- They credit a single author with opening their eyes to a world view they are very proud of.
- That author is Ayn Rand
- They believe their personal health practices are exceptional and are eager to tell you what you’re doing wrong.
- They think science and scientists are free from prejudice.
- They think only “stupid” people fall for religious teachings, cults or pyramid schemes and are confident that they’re immune.
- They think swearing, name calling or a rude tone signifies a lack of intelligence or invalidates a person’s point.
- They think it’s your own fault if you’re hurt by anything they say or do .
- They think the main problem with the world is how most other people are less smart than they are.
- They have ever used the concept of “free speech” or “artistic expression” as an argument against someone feeling hurt or offended by something. Ever.
If any of these describe you, don’t panic, depending on which things and to what extent you might have a manageable level of dickery, and with some hard work, you might even outgrow it entirely! Lots of these things sound like they make sense or just aren’t so bad when you’re particularly young; bad habits can cling when nobody brings them to your attention!
If you know someone who strongly fits most or all of these though, just run. There’s no saving them but you can still save your health.
“before talking about egypt” post
because i’m really tired of rhetoric regarding egypt on this website, and because i’m tired of repeating the same things over and over, here’s a post of things every person who posts something about egypt should be aware of before opening their mouths:
- egyptians do not ascribe to western racial constructs. repeat this several times. egyptians aren’t white, or black, or white-passing, or brown until they’re forced to identify under these by westerners. like “poc” these terms are meaningless without something to compare it to. when you call people living in their own country “poc,” you don’t sound very well-informed.
- before mouthing off about “ancient/real egyptians” and “modern coloniser egyptians,” this is what egyptians look like:
but they also look like this:
and this:
none of these are considered “more egyptian” than the other, and if we don’t do it, frankly you shouldn’t.
(i had to take some of these off a government propaganda video, i hope you’re happy. also watch it, it’s pretty catchy.)
- here is egypt on a map:
(x)
as you can see, egypt is located in northern africa. this makes egypt an african country. it is also usually included in the politically vague “middle east,” or more accurately the Middle East and North African (MENA) region. egypt is a culturally arab country. this makes it african and arab. egyptians identify as both without issue. it is not a big deal, nor is it up to you to tell us what to identify as.egypt has also had the same borders for around 5000 years, give or take, due to the nile being a major factor in where the concentration of populations are. therefore ancient egyptians were also north african, with close interactions with the kushite kingdom in the south, where Sudan is now. got it? ancient egypt, geographically = egypt + sudan. we know exactly where ancient egypt was located. they were nice enough to write everything down.
- egyptians were never enslaved by americans or taken to america. while the egyptian diaspora is large, most egyptian immigrants are recent first or second generation. this means that egyptians have no claim to african american history, and vice versa.
- nubian egyptians still exist. they are a minority in upper (southern) egypt that faces erasure, oppression and discrimination.
- before deciding that ancient and modern egyptians are two separate species, please remember that egyptians still use the same farming tools, agricultural calendar, and even words as ancient egyptians. we even celebrate the the longest running holiday in history.
- before blaming “arabs” for “changing egypt’s ethnicity”* please remember that by the time Muslim conquests arrived in Egypt, Egypt had already been occupied by the Greeks and Roman Byzantines for several hundred years, not to mention intermixing with Hyksos, Assyrians and Kushites since the Late Intermediate period. Egypt has always been diverse. despite that, even wikipedia will tell you that vast majority of egypt’s population is ethnically egyptian. and here’s another source. and another. shut up about this already.
the Egyptians have been in place since back in the Pleistocene and have been largely unaffected by either invasions or migrations. As others have noted, Egyptians are Egyptians, and they were so in the past as well. (x)
- the purpose of this is not to deny that under US-centric classifications, most ancient egyptians would be considered black*, because they most certainly would and white-washing of ancient egypt is prevalent and harmful*, but to assert that modern egyptians are not a separate ethnicity from their ancestors and that separating “modern” and “ancient” egyptians is equally harmful, and denies egyptians a connection to their own heritage.
here are some posts i’ve made to clarify how race works in egypt*
- Arab is a cultural term, not an ethnic one. Identification as Arab is based on linguistic, political and cultural influences*, not ethnic ones. Egypt identifies as Arab today due to the arab nationalist movement in the 1950s, which was a response to British colonialism.*
- you cannot appropriate ancient egyptian “culture”. stop telling white people they can’t wear cleopatra outfits. this is what our tourism industry is based on.*
- appropriating our heritage, stealing our artefacts*, and claiming our history as your own does not fall under “cultural appropriation”* and it is really harmful and annoying.
- for reference, this is what egyptian traditional dress looks like:
![]()
(not super accurate because it differs in different parts of egypt, but you get the idea. surprise, it’s not cleopatra outfits after all!)
here is a list of the absolute stupidest (and most popular) posts regarding egypt i’ve seen on my dash that you should absolutely 100% not reblog ever:
this post, which was fine until it was corrected to this travesty.
- and my personal favorite:
(please do not reblog any of these they have caused more pain and grief to egyptians on this website than exodus ever will. nobody of any importance genuinely thinks egyptians were white anymore. the brits tried to suggest it but then again they also put forth that the ancient egyptians were aliens, so this is really Not A Thing. believe it or not hollywood does not set the standard for egyptology.)
- so to sum up: don’t tell egyptians what to identify as, don’t tell egyptians what they’re supposed to look like, don’t force egyptians or ancient egyptians into western racial classifications and don’t talk about egypt unless you have basic knowledge of egypt.
* links with (*) on them lead to posts on my own blog that clarify each point or explain it further, not outside sources. i only have basic knowledge of most issues from an egyptian point of view, but that’s still more than 99% of the people on this website so you might as well listen to me instead of giving the fucking indo-aryan post 75k notes.

but they also look like this:
and this:
none of these are considered “more egyptian” than the other, and if we don’t do it, frankly you shouldn’t.
