Reminders for National Coming Out Day:

k-pagination:

-If it will endanger you directly, don’t feel obligated.
-If it will endanger you emotionally and mentally, don’t feel obligated.
-If it will create a toxic environment, don’t feel obligated.
-If you are just not ready, feel no shame. You’re not obligated.

Being “in the closet” is not shameful. If you want to argue with me on this, take it elsewhere; that toxicity will not be permitted here.

I want to say this because its related to the post I just reblogged but at the same time I dont want to distract from its message so:

Don’t Wear Straight Jackets For Halloween

There’s more at stake in the viability of “cisgender” than mere words. “Cisgender” suggests a commonality among transgender and non-transgender people, at a time when transgender people are struggling for recognition. It tells us that we all experience some kind of relationship between our bodies and our selves, whatever that relationship may be. And it reminds us that those who experience a “match” between their body and their selves have it a lot easier in our society than those who do not. To the extent that “cisgender” helps raise awareness of intolerance and injustice towards transgender people, it serves a crucial political purpose right now. Potentially, “cisgender” could help build consensus on transgender rights.

WE NEED FEMINISM BECAUSE WHEN LANCE ARMSTRONG GOT CANCER AND LOST A TESTICLE IT WAS ALL ABOUT HIS HEALTH AND HOW INSPIRATIONAL HE WAS BUT WHEN ANGELINA JOLIE GETS A DOUBLE MASTECTOMY TO PREVENT HERSELF FROM GETTING CANCER, IT’S ALL ABOUT HOW SHE WON’T BE A SEX SYMBOL ANYMORE AND HOW MEN ARE OFFENDED CAUSE SHE WON’T BE AN OBJECT FOR THEM

I’m pretty sure I reblog this already but this need to be reblog again

Happening Now (10.8.14): Oh dear God, not again. Another life lost in St Louis. So little information right now, but it seems that an unarmed 18-year old boy was tased then shot 16 times by an officer, possibly off-duty. Not clear what provoked the event, but I’ll keep you updated as info is released. #staywoke #blacklivesmatter

People condemn Islam for being a terrorist group but like radical Islam is such a small percentage of Muslims while Christians have literally done so much shit that the church has either told them to do, supported or allowed. The slave trade, crusades, antisemitism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and so much more shit has been condoned by Christian leadership. I’m not saying we should bash Christianity but we shouldn’t have this double standard that perpetuates Islamophobia.

I made a comic about what it feels like (to me) to cope with having an invisible illness and the judgements and accusations that sometimes come with invisible illnesses.

I did it in green ‘cause that’s the color of the Celiac Awareness ribbon Celiac is one of the “imaginary” “all in your head” “stupid” “hypochondriac” invisible illnesses I live with.

So here. Be nice to people in general, because it’s the right thing to do, but if you can’t at least do that then please don’t be an asshole when someone tells you that they have Lupus or Celiac or Fibromyalgia or any of the other things that we live with every day that you can’t see on the surface.

Cheers.

it’s the wellnes that i fake not the illness
